I am an Italian multidisciplinary artist and researcher – known as Remigio Picone in academic circles. My work has evolved into a diverse and conceptual exploration of human nature and its connection to the natural and artificial world by fusing art, science, and technologies – such as artificial intelligence, computational sciences, and biology. Through my work, I encourage reflection on our past, the envisioning of new possibilities, and a reshaping of the complex relationship between humanity and the natural and artificial environments.
I have created a diverse body of work that includes paintings, kinetic art, 3D installations, land art, video projection art, sound and dance performance art, short films, site-specific video and sound installations, as well as scientific research articles. My work has been exhibited and published internationally, and it forms part of private and public collections in Europe and the USA.
With a degree in Computer Science, a Ph.D. from University College London in Cell Molecular Biology, Computational Science, and Nanotechnologies, and research experience at institutions such as University College London, the London Centre for Nanotechnology, Harvard Medical School, and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, along with experience in both the private sector and the creative industry, I continue to shape my artistic and scientific journey.
