Statement

My art focuses broadly on language. Through language we establish conventions that shape our lives. With my work I act to create spaces in which these conventions evanesce by altering the relationship between signifier and signified. The goal is to reveal characteristics, values and shapes of “unconventional spaces” as negatives of our fabricated reality

Bio

I am an Italian multi-disciplinary and conceptual artist currently working and living in Boston (USA).  My trajectory towards art is quite unconventional. I’m a researcher in biological, artificial intelligence and nanotechnologies at University College London (UK), Harvard Medical School and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (USA). I started my artistic career in 2010 collaborating with the artist Josh Baum at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London making kinetics sculptures using water and its interaction with materials. In 2012 I moved to Boston (USA) to work as researcher at the Harvard Medical School and started my own artistic career. Since then, I have worked on a variety of artistic enquires and developed lines of work on language, semiotics, temporality, reality, de-subjectivization, contemporary archaeology and biological-art through painting, 3d installation and video-art. in 2015 my conceptual work on language and temporality was selected for a TEDx talk in Boston
